Swimming pool construction starts now! With the approval of the Home Owners Association, the City of Roseville Building Department and a building permit in hand, it was Time to break ground on the exciting“Water Song” swimming pool project in Roseville, Ca.
“As an experienced, expert, licensed contractor and owner of Jim Chandler Pools, I take great care and thought when building my swimming pool projects.” The Roseville property had to be intricately transformed to accommodate the complex “Water Song” Swimming pool design. The many hours of planning and designing were now going to be realized.
It’s always exhilarating to start a new swimming pool construction project. Everyone is excited when the excavation crew arrives first thing in the morning. The giant dump trucks, backhoes and tractors with their diesel engines humming announce the beginning of a another swimming pool construction project in a quiet suburban neighborhood. Aah… let’s dig a pool today! This custom Roseville lot had to be pre-graded to my plans and specifications prior to starting the pool excavation.
An existing concrete walk needed to be removed, a retaining wall dismantled and the sub grade lowered. The walk was between an existing concrete patio deck that we were leaving and a continuing walk way to the driveway. I used a diamond blade saw to precisely cut the walk from the deck then the excavator removed the concrete strategically and like magic it was gone. The crew opened up a section of a stacked retainer for the raised spa and then graded the entire site to accommodate the pool forms and new concrete decking.
“I believe that the swimming pool construction excavation phase is one of the most important swimming pool construction phases.”
The excavation had to be extremely precise and accurate for the complex and geometric “Water Song” swimming pool design to be constructed. After laser setting all the elevations of the swimming pool and hours of pre-grading we now could “layout”the swimming pool shape.
“I layout the design to water with white paint and walked my customers Dan and Katherine around the project for their approval.” They had a few questions about how high would the spa would be by the fence. Since the back of the spa was raised up 30 “above the pool we measured with the laser level and showed them the finished elevation. They also wanted to make sure that the deep end and shallow end radii were at the proper length. I showed them on the plan that they were 6′ 1″ then measured on the ground to verify the measurement. “I spend a great deal of time on the layout with my customers so they understand where everything is going to be.” Dan and Katherine were happy with the layout and gave their approval.
“Forming a symmetrical swimming pool with 90 degree corners, equal sides, raised beams and radii is an art… “I work very diligently with my excavation crew to make sure the swimming pool construction excavation forming is true and correct.” Checking and re checking all of the measurements we are now ready to start digging the swimming pool! Here we go!!!
More to come….
